Load Weight/Dimension: As opposed to size of the vehicle, size of the load is key.If there are numerous pallets, or a substantial weight volume, this would determine whether a larger vehicle is needed – specially trained drivers may have to transport specific loads/types of freight to meet regulations which will increase the cost.

Greater Quantity Of Goods: Often it can be more beneficial for the driver to transport more goods in one journey to make the trip worthwhile for them, so in this case you may find that rates may be lower to transport a higher volume of pallets and send a bigger load in one go to save transport costs.

Date Flexibility: If you are able to be flexible regarding the collection date, the haulier may then be able to include your goods and combine them with an already scheduled journey which will be guaranteed to bring your haulage costs down. Speed is one of the most expensive factors which is why same day and urgent deliveries are one of the most noticeable increases to your haulage quotes.
