Major platform rebuild introduces AI-powered transport management, smarter freight matching, dedicated contracts, nationwide tenders, advanced integrations and a new truck-specific driver app.
HaulageHub has launched HaulageHub 3.0, the biggest update to its digital freight network and transport management capabilities to date, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ambition to help make UK road haulage more connected, efficient and digitally enabled.
The new platform has been rebuilt around an improved user experience and modern technology architecture, while retaining the fundamental processes already used by HaulageHub’s network of shippers and hauliers.
Rather than simply updating the marketplace experience, HaulageHub 3.0 significantly broadens what businesses can use the platform for — from sourcing spot and dedicated transport capacity to managing tenders, contracts, live transport operations, driver visibility, integrations and increasingly automated transport management.
Moving beyond the traditional freight marketplace
HaulageHub was originally created to make it easier for businesses with transport requirements to connect with professional haulage companies with available capacity.
HaulageHub 3.0 builds significantly on that original premise.
For hauliers, the platform is increasingly designed to provide access to a wider range of high-quality commercial opportunities, including spot work, dedicated transport, longer-term contracts and nationwide tenders.
A redesigned Available Loads area and new Load Finder make it easier for operators to identify relevant work, while a smarter matching engine increasingly links fleet information, vehicle requirements and operating preferences with suitable freight opportunities.
HaulageHub is also increasing the use of its existing Accept It Now functionality, allowing hauliers to secure suitable work instantly at the advertised rate where available.
At the same time, hauliers can use the platform in the opposite direction — sourcing additional trusted capacity when existing work falls outside their own fleet requirements, preferred geography or available resource.
New tools for shippers and transport teams
HaulageHub 3.0 introduces an extensively updated experience for businesses posting and managing transport.
New functionality includes improved single and multi-load posting, cleaner operational load views, centralised messaging, greater notification control and easier access to haulier insurance and accreditation documentation.
Enterprise shippers gain access to a broader suite of transport management functionality, including Haulier Outreach, enhanced tendering, dedicated contracts, improved bulk load management, site management tools and HaulageHub’s new Rate Map.
The platform also introduces HaulageHub Autopilot, a new AI-enabled transport management capability designed to help automate elements of day-to-day transport operations.
Autopilot can assist with dynamically pricing freight in line with market conditions, managing loads with hauliers, requesting transport updates both digitally and over the telephone, helping manage site delays, and reviewing POD and delivery documentation.
The aim is to reduce repetitive manual intervention while allowing transport teams to retain visibility and control.
Driver1 brings visibility closer to the vehicle
Launching alongside the updated platform is Driver1, HaulageHub’s new driver application.
Driver1 has been designed specifically for professional road transport and includes truck-specific navigation built around commercial vehicle requirements.
By connecting drivers more closely with the HaulageHub platform, Driver1 is designed to improve the quality and accuracy of journey, location and operational information available to hauliers and shippers.
The application will replace HaulageHub’s previous driver app and is expected to become an increasingly important source of live transport information across the network.
HaulageHub Connect opens the platform to wider transport technology
HaulageHub 3.0 also introduces HaulageHub Connect, a new integration layer designed to connect the platform with transport management systems, ERP platforms and other operational technology.
Connect enables load, status and operational information to move more easily between HaulageHub and the systems already used by transport businesses.
The company believes deeper integration will be fundamental to reducing duplicated administration and allowing transport businesses to manage subcontracting and external capacity as part of their wider digital transport operation.
AI becoming part of day-to-day haulage operations
Artificial intelligence also has a significantly greater role within HaulageHub 3.0.
Alongside Autopilot, HaulageHub’s Sam AI Assistant is being developed to support members with platform queries and operational assistance through both digital conversations and telephone interactions.
Rather than positioning AI as a standalone feature, HaulageHub is focused on embedding it into practical transport workflows where automation can remove repetitive administration, improve visibility and allow people to focus on higher-value decisions.
A platform built for the next phase of UK road haulage
Craig Thompson, Co-Founder of HaulageHub, said:
“HaulageHub 3.0 is much bigger for us than a new interface or a collection of new features. We have essentially rebuilt the platform around where we believe road haulage is heading.”
“The fundamental principle behind HaulageHub hasn’t changed. There are businesses that need trusted transport capacity and professional hauliers that want access to good-quality, profitable work. Technology should make connecting those two sides easier, quicker and more efficient.”
“What has changed is how far we can now take that principle. HaulageHub is becoming much more than somewhere to post or find an individual load. We can help businesses manage spot freight, dedicated contracts, nationwide tenders, subcontracting, live operations, driver visibility, integrations and increasingly automate parts of the transport management process.”
“For hauliers, our focus remains on bringing better quality work and more opportunities onto the platform, whether that is an individual load, a dedicated lane or a major national tender. For shippers, it is about giving them a much more intelligent way to access and manage a trusted transport network.”
“We see HaulageHub 3.0 as an important milestone not just for HaulageHub and our members, but in our wider ambition for UK road haulage. The industry has historically operated across fragmented systems, emails, phone calls and disconnected networks. We believe there is a huge opportunity to connect more of that ecosystem digitally while still keeping the relationships between shippers and hauliers at the heart of it.”
Building a more connected haulage network
The launch follows continued expansion of the HaulageHub network and the development of new industry partnerships and integrations.
HaulageHub also operates the RHA Exchange, developed in partnership with the Road Haulage Association, providing a dedicated environment for RHA members to share transport work.
The company says HaulageHub 3.0 provides the technical foundation for a continuing programme of new functionality, integrations and automation, with additional capabilities being introduced progressively following the launch.
HaulageHub 3.0 brings freight, capacity and technology together through one connected network.
